A love letter and a sunset. I knew it would be the perfect proposal the moment I spoke to Matt about his plans to ask his girlfriend, Amy, to marry him.
Matt had reached out to me in somewhat of a panic. He was planning to propose in just a few days, and the plans to have a photographer there had fallen apart not just once, but several times. With Amy returning from a business trip in only four days, we worked quickly to coordinate the surprise.
I met Matt at Lake Crabtree. This was the spot where he first asked Amy out. Over the years, they had walked along this path and watched sunsets from the bench above the lake. He describes the letter that he had written her and his intentions to bring her to this spot and read it to her. It was so romantic!
We finalized the plan. Then we just had to wait. The excitement and anticipation was killing me!
It was a beautiful fall evening with the perfect sunset. You couldn’t have written it any better. As Matt got down on his knee, the look of surprise and pure joy that came across Amy’s face made everyone around stop. “I knew it!” said the woman next to me. “I hope you got some good pictures of that.” Of course! Matt and Amy made that part easy!
Ok, I may have teared up a little bit too. Matt’s proposal was so sweet!
As the sun set, we stopped by their bench to snap a few quick photos.
Matt and Amy, congratulations on your engagement! It was such an honor to capture this special moment for you. I wish you both many years filled with love, laughter and happiness!
