Last month, I had the pleasure of traveling up to the University of Maryland as a representative for Vs. Cancer to watch the Maryland baseball team shave their heads. With each event I attend, I am more and more impressed with the tireless efforts of these young men and women.
Maryland built an entire day around their Vs. Cancer event. A balloon release honoring those with cancer kicked things off before the start of their game against Georgia Tech. There were signs, a donation stand, even a cookout for the players and their families afterwards. To say it was a special day would be an understatement.
Don’t worry guys. You’re next!
I love the reaction of the hair stylists in this photo.
There is no better representation of what Vs. Cancer is about than this photo. A kid shaving his head to help other kids with cancer. What an incredible young man!
Running those fingers through those locks one last time…
Thank you Maryland baseball for your incredible efforts to help children with cancer! We can’t tell you enough how great those bald heads look and what they represent to the children whose lives you have touched. Here’s to an even bigger 2015!
Thanks so much Aly for doing what you do for Chase and Vs. Cancer. You are wonderful and your pictures are special.
